Hilary Ayling

Hilary Ayling joined SOaR in September 1998, having previously taught for 24 years in two village primary schools. From a young age, her main interests have been children and acting, so becoming a teacher seemed natural! She now works mainly in the villages in North Leicestershire.
She works with Primary Schools taking assemblies and RE lessons, helping teachers develop the RE curriculum and strengthening links between schools and churches. She is also involved in Toddlers Churches for Pre-school children and their parents/carers, after school clubs, Holiday Clubs and Church Outreach events as well as the annual SOaR Events, Journey to Bethlehem and The Great Big Meal.

Hilary leads all-age worship services and enjoys using the expressive arts in evangelism and worship.

There is often a deep prejudice towards church based on a stereotypical view. Working with SOaR gives the opportunity to present a different image by enabling people to encounter Jesus by serving them and in communicating his message of love and forgiveness.
